Scylla and the Sirens Boss Guide

From Hades 2 Wiki and Guides
Scylla.png

CodexPortrait Scylla.pngScylla is the second Boss fight in the Hades II which takes place after completing Oceanus. As Melinoë heads deeper and deeper she will hear CodexPortrait Scylla.pngScylla's singing more clearly.

The unique feature of Scylla and Sirens boss fight is that you actually fight 3 bosses: Scylla, Roxy the Drummer and Jetty the Guitarist, each of them have unique moveset and abilities that should be taken into account during the fight. They also share the HP Bar, and if one of the bosses will take too much damage they will shield up and stop fighting, removing their movesets from the fight.

Move names in this article are made up, since actual move names are unknown.

Scylla Moveset[edit | edit source]

Scylla have multiple attacks, but most of them can be evaded quite easily. Her clam is impenetrable for the back attacks, which makes fighting her a bit harder.

Mic Smash[edit | edit source]

Scylla does a short-range attack with her microphone stand/staff.

Easy to avoid using a single dash due to it being slow and noticeable. Prior to attacking you will hear a sound cue similar to guitar riff or mic distortion. Shortly after Scylla will try to strike Melinoë with a microphone Stand.

Shrieking Shards[edit | edit source]

Scylla releases constant arc or shards in front of her and slowly moves towards Melinoë.

It's possible dodge away and run/sprint at a safe distance. Moreover, Scylla rotation speed it pretty low, so sidestepping is an option as well.

Long-Range Projectile Arc[edit | edit source]

Scylla hides in her shell becoming unvelnerable, charging up a wide arc AOE attack. When charges she releases 9 slowly moving projectile towards Melinoë in an arc shaped manner.

Those can be dashed through. At range they have enough space between the projectiles to just move between them avoiding taking damage.

Exploding Note[edit | edit source]

Scylla releases slow moving musical note orb, that is homing towards Melinoë. Ususally she releases several of those back-to-back depending on the phase of the fight (usually between 1 and 5 orbs are being launched). Orbs stay on the battlefield for a pretty long amount of time and even though they are slow, in combination with other threats on the battlefield they might catch player off guard.

Kiting the orbs is one of the options, but if there are stone statues nearby it is possible to use them to dispose of the orbs.

Laser Show[edit | edit source]

Scylla summons 4 lasers in a cross shape around her. Shortly after they start rotating in a clockwise direction. If Scylla is the Featured Artist for the battle, she'll use a variation of this attack that can also sporadically fire Long Range Projectiles in between the lines of blood as well.

Its recommended to stay outside of the laser range and focus on other bosses during this Scylla move. If you are sure about your reflexes you can try to pace your attacks and move together with the lasers, avoiding the damage and damaging Scylla in the process.

Roxy the Drummer Moveset[edit | edit source]

Roxy the Drummer will be immobile during the fight and will always stay on her position. She uses several AOE attacks, so she cant reliably protect herself. That makes her an easy target for attacks if there are no other bosses nearby.

Blasting Drums[edit | edit source]

Roxy the Drummer fires series of AOE attacks expanding outwards or inwards. Those can be recognized by AOE circle telegraphs on the ground, and they always start either from the Roxy the Drummer or from the opposite side of the arena.

Its important to notice the direction of the Blasting Drum wave to properly evade it. It's possible to evade the attack completely when dashing at the explosion moment.

Massive Blast[edit | edit source]

Roxy the Drummer is getting ready for huge AOE attack covering the entire arena. It has 2 stages, which follow each other, but the first one is random:

  1. All the arena is covered in red with a circle around Roxy the Drummer being a safe spot
  2. All the arena is covered is a safe spot with a circle around Roxy the Drummer being an AOE area

You will have plenty of time to run out of the AOE area, but be ready to run back soon after the first attack is done, since they go in pairs and safe and aoe areas will switch.

Jetty the Guitarist Moveset[edit | edit source]

Jetty the Guitarist (actually called Keytarist) will move around the battlefield and will be the fastest boss in this fight.

Keytar Bullets[edit | edit source]

Jetty the Guitarist will fire several projectiles at Melinoë. Those projectiles bounce off walls so be careful next to the obstacles.

Can be easily avoided by moving sideways.

Soundwave Stun[edit | edit source]

Jetty the Guitarist fires a barrage of soundwaves at Melinoë. They do not do any direct damage, but can stun and knockback. This can be harmless, but also you are risking being pushed into the aoe or Scylla's Explosive Notes orbs taking heavy damage.

Can be avoided if dodged sideways or keeping distance to the Jetty.

Keytar Charge[edit | edit source]

Jetty the Guitarist will charge forward to Melinoë. If she will make contact with a wall or Melinoë it will result in a small expanding shockwave causing damage. It will also stun Melinoë and knock her away a short distance.

Dodge sideways as soon as Jetty starts charging the attack and glowing.
