Oath of the Unseen

From Hades 2 Wiki and Guides

The Oath of the Unseen is unlocked only after beating Chronos and is the focal point of late-game runs. It is located in The Crossroads training ground, between the exits towards the Surface/Underworld. Using it, you can take on Vows, special challenges which increase difficulty.

Rewards[edit | edit source]

On the left side of the UI, each weapon will show a specific boss and the required Fear level to complete that Testament. Doing so will reward 1 Nightmare.pngNightmare.

Each Vow grants a certain amount of Fear.png Fear. When you have enough for the currently equipped weapon's Testament, the boss portrait will light up. If the boss portrait is still grey, you will not receive any rewards.

Testaments do not follow a linear progression, but instead occur at 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, and 24 Fear, with two of these being skipped for each weapon - leading to a total of 6 Testaments per weapon.

It is possible to complete multiple Testaments in the same run by raising Fear above the initial requirements, and beating the appropriate bosses in the appropriate order. For example, the Witch's Staff.pngWitch's Staff requires beating Hecate at 1 Fear, Scylla at 2 Fear, Cerberus at 12 Fear, and Chronos at 20 Fear. You could do a single 20 Fear run that beats all four bosses, and thus receive 4 Nightmare.pngNightmare. Conversely, if you had not completed any Testaments with the Argent Skull, a 4 Fear run of the Underworld would only reward 1 Nightmare.pngNightmare, as the "Hecate, 4 Fear" Testament is only unlocked after completing the "Cerberus, 1 Fear" Testament.

Statues are awarded by CodexPortrait Skelly.pngSchelemeus for beating 8, 16, and 32 Fear. You must complete the appropriate Fear on both the Surface and Underworld (with any weapon) to unlock the statues, which appear near him in the Training Grounds.

Currently, a maximum of 55 Fear is available by activating all Vows. There are 30 Testaments that can be completed.
