Hades II Guides
Keepsakes are special items that can be equipped by Melinoë to get additional bonuses during the run. They can be acquired by gifting Nectar to Characters for the first time.
They can be equipped in the Display Case at the The Crossroads and between the Regions (if those options are unlocked through the Incantations. Closing the keepsake display after changing keepsakes will lock the display from being accessed again until the next post-boss room. If you switch out of a keepsake mid-run, you cannot switch back to it for the rest of the run.
Keepsakes automatically get permanently upgraded when enough encounters are cleared while the keepsake is equipped.
A cumulative total of 25 encounters cleared is required for upgrading a keepsake to rank 2 and 50 additional encounters are needed for rank 3.
Rank 4 can only be achieved by equipping a keepsake after receiving the Duo Boon Cherished Heirloom (Hera and Demeter)
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The Golden Purse is affected by Boons that increase gold gain.
- Silken Sash can be useful for extending Arachne's Boons.
- Rarifying a Boon increases it by 1 Rarity; only Boons of lower rarity can be upgraded in this way.
- i.e. a Rank 3 Cloud Bangle could upgrade a Common Boon to Rare, or an Epic Boon to Heroic; either usage consumes it's charge for the night.
- Currently, the only Keepsakes that cannot reach Rank 4 are those that Rarify Boons.
- The Chaos Boon from Transcendent Embryo persists even when the keepsake is removed.
- Un-equipping the Keepsake will stop it from changing; otherwise it will continue to change every 8 encounters.
- The Arcana Card from Crystal Figurine persists even when the keepsake is removed.
- The hammer from Experimental Hammer persists even when the keepsake is removed (but continues to count down).
- Unlike the above, bonuses from the Discordant Bell do NOT persist if you switch keepsakes.
TBA[edit | edit source]
- Unknown if the bonus from Blackened Fleece carries over.
- Unknown if the bonus from Lion Fang can potentially carry over in shorter Regions.
- Unknown if the bonus from Metallic Droplet can potentially carry over, if you're really really fast.
