Eris is one of the Characters in Hades II. She is the personification of Strife, and the youngest daughter of Nyx.

Eris can be met at various locations where she acts in different roles:

She is the boss encounter of the Rift of Thessaly, where she is fought upon reaching the coastline.

She also has access to The Crossroads because of an oath Hecate and Nyx made that ensured that all Children of Nyx would be safe there. In The Crossroads she can be interacted with and even receive Gifts. Note that if she is first met as a boss, gifting may take an unusually long time to unlock. She also throws away Rubbish that can be cleaned up and obtained this way.

Blessing of Eris[edit | edit source]

If Melinoë reaches various Regions within a certain number of nights, Eris can appear gives Melinoë the "Blessing" of Eris. This is a +20% Damage Received debuff which increases after each Encounter. Currently this is known to occur when beating Hecate on the 2nd or earlier night, and when beating Chronos on the 8th or earlier night. To offset this "Blessing", Eris will also give Melinoë a large number of Bones.pngBones, up to 300 for reaching Tartarus.

Dodging Eris[edit | edit source]

The encounter with Eris will be postponed if Melinoë enters the first room of the biome at 50% HP or lower. If every biome past Erebus is entered with at most 50% HP, then the encounter with Eris, and hence her Blessing, can be avoided entirely.

Physical description[edit | edit source]

Eris has short hair and two black wings on the back. She wears multi-colored cloths and a cartridge belt around her waist. In her right hand she holds Exagryph, the Adamant Rail, in the Aspect of Eris form.

History[edit | edit source]

Some time after the fall of the House of Hades Eris got in the possession of the Adamant Rail. When asked about how this could be, Moros answers: […] Eris hat it by their own decree. Perhaps as a plaything to keep her occupied.

The Book Of Shadows Entry[edit source]

Book Of Shadow.png
We have Night to thank for many of the primordial forces without which the world as we know it scarce can be imagined.
Strife, for better or worse, is one such force. She scoffs at any sort of order, natural or otherwise. You are drawn to her like a moth to a flame.
